💡Some notes before you start booking:

  • To book an appointment, you will be asked to create a profile
  • Please make sure to fill out “Intake Forms” in your client profile to ensure all necessary forms have been completed
  • We require a valid credit card or debit/credit card on file to reserve your session.
  • We do not offer direct billing at this time, however, we are happy to provide all receipts and invoices
  • We offer both virtual and in-person psychotherapy sessions, and they will take place in at:

    1) Markham office: Suite 305, 3601 Hwy 7, Markham, ON L3R 0M3

    2) TR office: Unit B, 3833 Midland Ave, Scarborough, ON M1V 5L6

    3) Eglinton office: Suite 510, 2345 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario M4P 2E5

  • Session at the Beacon of Hope Community Clinic will be offered with a reduced price by therapists in training, conditions apply.
  • If you are a minor or booking for your minor as parents/guardians, please book the consultation with our psychometrists to go through the intake process first.

Please keep in mind that you MUST notify our office to cancel or reschedule the appointment 24 hours in advance. Appointments on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday must be notified before 5 p.m. (EST) on Friday. Failure to do so will result in a missed appointment fee – 50% of the full session fee.

At Hopewoods, our consultation fee is…zero. That’s right, we provide free consultation for each client who comes to our door at Hopewoods.

During your first session:
We will listen to the narratives of your concerns, and from there we can form a preliminary conceptualization of your struggles and difficulties. We’ll then get to know more about you and carefully select the most suitable approach. At the end of your consultation, we usually will help you understand how our therapists can help you in your journey.

Think of your first consultation as a discussion of your life experiences. This is your time to present problems and get an introduction of therapy and how it can help you.

We believe in providing our clients the proper care and attention to their mental health they need, while realizing that everyone’s situation is very different. As a result, the cost for a our private therapy services will vary, much like our fee schedule varies for assessments. A first psychotherapy consultation, however, is free of charge to everyone.

Individual therapy is a collaborative process with the client and therapist where common goals are worked on in each session. These goals may include improving one’s quality of life, overcoming stress, symptom management, learning coping skills, and/or improving self-image, concept, self-esteem.

Several forms of therapies are available for individuals, and the benefits are many, which include:

* One-on-one, undivided attention between yourself and your clinician
* A new addition to your support network
* Help with identifying underlying causes of symptoms of anxiety, depression, and more
* The opportunity to learn how to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other mental health struggles
* Gain a better understanding of yourself, while learning how to handle emotions, set boundaries, initiate coping strategies, and facilitate healthy lifestyle changes

Please note that we charge by hourly rate, a typical one-hour session is 50 minutes long with 10 minutes allocated to documentation and paperwork. For example, 1-hour session will be 50 mins, 1.5-hour session will be 80 mins, 2-hour session will be 110 mins, etc. If you need more details, please don't hesitate to reach our admin team at info@hopewoods.ca ;)

Life can get unpredictable. We all have moments when life seems to spiral out of control as it becomes increasingly difficult to navigate through life challenges. Whether it is addiction, anxiety, anger, life transitions, or relationship issues, it is possible to take charge again.

Johnson’s clinical approach draws from therapy approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Client-Centered Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapies. He has been serving in the community for over 5 years focusing on helping those struggling with addictions and the marginalized population.

The foundation of the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client will be grounded on compassion. It is essential to Johnson that each client is heard and valued. His goal is to provide every individual with a space where they feel safe from judgment and free to express themselves openly. Johnson is passionate about working mutually with clients to raise self-awareness, encourage growth, reach goals, and improve quality of life.
